Yoga AT
THE ARC
Our yoga schedule has been curated to welcome all in the community who are interested in exploring yoga, whether that’s a slower flow, a beginner class or a more dynamic session.

We are your friendly neighbourhood yoga studio where you will find some of the finest and friendliest teachers in London.
We're located in Islington, just 10 minutes away from Angel Station and 5 minutes from Regents Canal. We offer our classes from two spacious and airy studios, both fully equipped with mats and all the equipment you might need to enjoy your practice. We offer yoga, Pilates, meditation and breathwork as well as specialist classes in pre and post-natal yoga and experiences for children and families. Our aim is to be your refuge from the busy city, bringing you back to harmony and your natural, perfect self.

Our Classes
Our schedule is carefully curated to offer something for everybody. If you are a beginner or getting back to your practice after a break, our beginner level or slower flows might be the best place to start. If you’re looking to build some energy maybe try Ashtanga or our stronger flows. Or for something magical and relaxing, then candlelit yin might just be perfect! If you are not sure, get in touch or drop in for a chat - our friendly team can help you find what you want.
Workshops
Our inspiring workshop and course programme offers a deep dive into an extended practice, opening the door to further insights and understanding. These run longer than a regular class and usually include a chance to experiment and play, discussion and theory, and a chance to work more deeply with a teacher. They are also a great way to have fun with our growing community of yogis. We offer a wide range of workshops from inversions to restorative to sound baths. Take a look at our schedule to discover more.

Ashtanga Yoga Guided Self Practice
Drop in to this the distinctive Self-Guided Ashtanga class anytime between 6.15am - 9:30am! A group practice with an individual touch. Unlike guided sessions, here you'll be taught the set Ashtanga sequence pose by pose, moving at your own rhythm. As familiarity with the sequence grows, the practice transforms into a moving meditation.
-
Ashtanga Primary Series Counted Class
On the first Friday of the month, join Agi for a counted led class working through the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. This class is designed to complement Ashtangs Self Guided Practice (in the Mysore tradition) Expect a brisk pace but feel free to take as many moments of rest as you need. Join the Ashtanga community for a coffee and some breakfast after class in our Cafe.
-
ashtanga yoga
A powerful and dynamic style of yoga developed by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, in which a set series of postures (The Primary Series) are linked dynamically to the breath in a flow of movement increasing strength and flexibility. A vigorous practice, moving from pose to pose at a sustained pace.
Expect a workout that builds up strength, flexibility and stamina. When the set sequence of postures becomes familiar, the mind relaxes and the practice becomes like a moving meditation as you no longer need to remember the sequence.
-
Flow Yoga (Energise)
Elevate your practice with this Energise class, a dynamic experience where poses flow in sync with breath. Influenced by Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga, this contemporary style features diverse sequencing for unique classes. Expect a faster pace, blending deep stretches and strengthening poses. Inversions or arm balances might be incorporated where suitable. This class suits those with some prior yoga experience, who feel ready for a mix of soft and challenging postures.
-
Flow Yoga (Strong)
Embark on a dynamic journey with our strength flows: a vinyasa-style practice designed to be accessible yet challenging to those who wish to take the poses further. The class will blend movement with breath, challenge your balance, build upper and lower body strength and develop your flexibility. It may include some inversions and arm balances but options for all levels will be offered.
-
Hatha Flow
In the class, yoga postures will flow gently from one to the next with pauses incorporated for added instruction from your teacher, and a chance to feel into the postures. There will be some focus on alignment and breath work and this class is open to all levels, including beginners.
-
Vinyasa Flow
A practice where asanas (poses) flow from one to the next, linking breath with movement in a flowing sequence. Creative sequencing is used so that each class is different and music may accompany your flow. Expect a fully rounded practice with some stretching and a variety of strengthening poses to leave you energised yet relaxed.
-
flow and Restore
A combination of flowing movement and restorative rest. We begin with a steady, breath-led, moving practice to open the body and ease tension. In the latter part of the class we reach for bolsters and blankets to soak up stillness and deep relaxation through restorative yoga. All props are provided by the studio so just come as you are. Open to all levels.
-
Mat Pilates

-
Pilates Flow
In this rejuvenating session, you will experience the perfect fusion of Pilates movements and Yoga postures, expertly designed to create a comprehensive full-body workout. By combining the precision and control of Pilates with the breath-focused flow of Yoga, you will enhance your flexibility, balance, and strength while fostering a deep mind-body connection. It’s the best of both worlds wrapped up in one exciting class!

yoga for calm
Combat stress through yoga's mind-body benefits. Cultivate calmness through breath, gentle movements, and stillness. This class is focused on the meditative side of slow and restorative yoga, bringing awareness to our state of being. An ideal class for all, regardless of yoga experience.
-
Gentle Yoga
Gentle Yoga (For All) allows you to reconnect to your body and breath and move into postures gently but will still allow you to increase your strength and flexibility. The class will be taught at a pace that provides an opportunity to notice your breath and any subtle differences between postures held on the right side of the body vs left.
Gentle Yoga is an opportunity to pause in your day for you; the pause and gentle movements help to decrease feelings of stress, anxiety and low mood, increasing your sense of well being.
-
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga is the perfect pause that provides the body with the opportunity to rest in stillness, this contributes to an increased sense of well being; reducing stress and anxiety levels, tiredness, aiding better sleep and releasing tension.
Using bolsters, blankets, and blocks to aid your relaxation, the restorative practice facilitates the calm space needed to shift your nervous system from “fight or flight” into a relaxation response, Sympathetic to Parasympathetic nervous system.
Restorative yoga poses are mostly supine and held between 5 - 10 mins; using bolsters, blankets, and blocks to aid relaxation; allowing you to reconnect with your breath whilst being fully supported by the props. The practice increases your well-being
-
Yin yoga
Our Yin Yoga is a calming passive practice, open to any and all. Poses are held for extended durations to bring space to joints and connective tissue, to enhance flexibility and range of motion. We prioritize sensation over appearance, so props are used to assist finding the pose - though the use of them is optional. Focus on how poses feel rather than how they look, ensuring a secure practice prioritising well-being.
Evening sessions are candle-lit

I don’t think these people know how much they made my day. As a regular yoga practicing pregnant person it meant the world to be able to join and have it not be a huge fuss. I walked in, had a brief convo with the instructor and got on with my practice . An absolute dream.
